Our story

We are a Geneva-based charity committed to uniting  teenagers through football. Our goal is to offer both the chance to play the sport and to teach valuable life skills that go hand in hand with the game.

The idea of FOOTBALL4iMPACT began by chance when Paula Powell, a Team Leader for Young People based in the United Kingdom (UK) met with Sarah Lalaz, a learning coordinator at The International School in Geneva. Paula was accompanying Paul Canoville who was visiting Ecolint to deliver a lecture to students about his experience in football and personal struggle with mental health.

Paula and Sarah recognised that they had the foundation for a unique project to bring together teenagers from diverse backgrounds through football. Paula had strong connections in the football industry, while Sarah worked with international students eager to develop entrepreneurial skills and play football with their peers. Acting as the catalyst, Sarah challenged her students to further develop the idea of uniting teenagers through a real-world football project.

From this initiative, FOOTBALL4iMPACT was born, developed by 3 founders and continued under the supervision of Sarah and successive students at Ecolint.
