FOOTBALL4iMPACT Trip to London

Following an unforgettable five-day trip to London, twelve of our Year 12 students returned with incredible stories and friendships that truly embody the spirit of FOOTBALL4iIMPACT. As part of their CAS project, these students embraced themes of unity, overcame cultural differences, and connected through their shared passion for football.

Our Year 12 students, accompanied by Ms. Lalaz and Mr. Donovan, were warmly welcomed by the West Ham Foundation team, along with 8 students  from the United Lisbon International School. Despite meeting for the first time, all three groups quickly bonded, both on and off the field. “The people we met on this trip made the experience truly special,” said Oisin, reflecting on the connections formed. Through an academic lens, the trip achieved a remarkable balance of lifelong learning, meaningful friendships, and the connecting spirit of football.

The mission statement of FOOTBALL4iMPACT is “teaching teenagers life skills through football,” and this was most definitely present  throughout the stay in London. This mission can be evaluated into two aspects: fostering lifelong friendships through football and taking the initiative to lead while developing new skills within a group.
